LeTourneau University sophomore baseball team member Rayne Hobbs (Mont Belvieu, Texas / Barbers Hill HS) hit .455 in a three-game sweep of Howard Payne. Hobbs had a team-high five hits and was second on the team with three runs scored. He had two hits in the series opener and two more in the series finale. Hobbs scored a run in each of the games.
