Ashley Stephens, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, was named the LeTourneau University Women’s Athlete of the Week on Monday, Nov. 18. Stephens had the first double double of her career (13 points, 12 rebounds) to lead LeTourneau to a 56-47 win over the University of Dallas to begin the 23-14 season. The double double by Stephens is the first in a season-opening game since a 13 point, 10-rebound effort by Katrina Visina in 2005 against Rhema Bible. She and teammate Julencia Curtis each had four blocked shots which were the most by a LeTourneau player since DeShante Thomas blocked five against Texas-Dallas on Feb. 18, 2012.
