Whitfield led the YellowJackets and first-year head coach Cassi Rozanski to her first career coaching win at the Milsaps Thanksgiving Classic by scoring a career-high 32 points. 11 of Whitfield's 32 points came at the charity stripe, where the freshman hit five of six free throws in the final 10 seconds to seal the victory as LETU led by one when Whitfield went to the line. The Rosebud, Texas native also added four steals in the win and followed up her performance with her first career double-double the next day against Huntingdon (10 points, 10 rebounds).
