LeTourneau junior infielder David Perkins of the baseball team played in all four games, where he hit at a team-best .556 clip as the YellowJackets swept East Texas Baptist and dropped a mid-week contest to Centenary. Against Centenary, he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. He followed that up with a 1-for-2 effort and two runs scored and two RBI in the series opener against ETBU as the YellowJackets shutout the Tigers (14-0). He had a home run, in addition to a walk. After a 0-for-2 performance, in the nightcap, he went 1-for-1 and picked up two walks. Perkins had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .750 on-base percentage to go along with a .556 batting average in the four games to lead the YellowJackets.
