Seevers received a prize of $75 for his award-winning design of "The Swarm" T-shirt launcher, which made its debut Saturday at halftime of the women's and men's basketball games between Texas-Dallas and LeTourneau. "The Swarm" narrowly edged out "The Stinger," in the overall competition. The competition featured contests that were judged on accuracy and distance.
"The Swarm" won the overall competition by a score of 191 to 168, which combined the results of the judges' scores and on the popular fan vote. The judges panel included LeTourneau University Dean of Students Corey Ross, Joe Bailey, LETU student body president, LETU softball player Robin Waggoner and Zach Holmer, a LeTourneau University engineering student.
All T-Shirt launchers will be used by the Athletics Department and by LETU mascot Buzz to enhance the experience at LeTourneau YellowJackets games.
