The LeTourneau University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie with host Howard Payne University on Thursday afternoon in Brownwood.
LETU (7-4-1, 4-1-1 ASC) controlled the match with a 16-3 advantage in shots in the tie. LETU junior
Stephanie Vana had eight shots – five on goal – in the tie and freshman goalkeeper
Bridey Davis made a pair of saves in 110 minutes of action.
Howard Payne (2-6-2, 1-4-1 ASC) goalkeeper Kelsie Piland made nine saves in 110 minutes in the tie. Three-different players for HPU had a shot in the contest.
LETU out shot HPU, 11-1 in the final 65 minutes in search of the game-winning goal with PIland and the HPU defense withstanding the attack with five saves.
Next up for LeTourneau is a rematch with UT Dallas, who was victorious 1-0 in overtime in the season opener on Sept. 1.
