Stephanie Vana had her second multi-goal game of the season in a 2-1 win over McMurry University on Friday in Abilene. It is the fifth time in her career that she has scored multiple goals in a game.
Vana scored a goal in each half to spark the YellowJackets, who posted a 9-2 advantage in shots to raise their record to 8-6-1. The last time that LETU reached the eight-win mark was in 2006 when they won 10 games. Freshman goalkeeper

McMurry (2-12-2) goalkeeper Simone Heinle had four saves, plus Holiday Williams and Erika Orlov each had a shot in the loss.
Vana put LETU ahead on a header in the 27
th minute after a free kick by junior
Raylene Gould. Later, in the game, the Warhawks tied it on a 33-yard direct kick by Williams in the 70
th minute.
With the game tied at 1, Vana scored the game-winning goal on a direct kick in the 81
st minute.

Next on the schedule for LETU is a matchup against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. On Friday, HSU defeated East Texas Baptist, 7-2.
