Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

LETU Women’s Soccer Drops 2-0 to Hardin-Simmons

YellowJacket women's soccer played a tight match with D3Soccer.com No.11 ranked Hardin-Simmons allowing two second half goals to fall 2-0 to the Cowgirls.

LeTourneau hung tough with one of the top NCAA Division III soccer programs in the nation as they went scoreless into the half.

"The girls played extraordinary soccer tonight," said head coach John Antonisse. "I was proud of our effort tonight and I thought we executed our game plan. We gave up a goal in the final minute when we tried to push numbers up to even the game."

Senior Brittany Hollis recorded six saves in the game to move into 9th all time in LeTourneau women's soccer history in career saves with 115.

The Cowgirls would find the net in the 60th minute to break the tie and give HSU a one goal lead. The YellowJackets would continue to battle and compete for the final 30 minutes but couldn't find the equalizer. HSU would score with six seconds remaining to push the final score to 2-0.

LeTourneau will celebrate senior night on Saturday at 5 PM in their matchup with McMurry University at the Joyce Family Athletic Village. Brittany Hollis, Raylene Gould, and Stephanie Vana will be playing in their final home game for the YellowJackets.

LeTourneau will also be playing for a spot in the American Southwest Conference tournament as they sit one point out of the eighth spot. A win on Saturday and an Ozarks tie or loss would put the YellowJackets into the ASC tournament for consecutive seasons.
