Facing a 1-0 deficit in the top of the seventh, the LeTourneau University softball team came back with three runs to rally for a 3-2 win over host Louisiana College. It is the first time in 2016 that the YellowJackets have won when trailing in the top of the 7
th.
The YellowJackets (11-13, 9-10 ASC) started the seventh with a double to left field by senior
Megan Hill. A single by senior
Brianna Williams, who extended her hitting streak to 11 games with a fourth inning single, put runners on the corners for LETU.

Rachel Gauspohl drove in pinch-runner senior
Emily Ramsey from third to put runners on first and second. Next, sophomore
Kelsie Benson brought in Gauspohl and Williams with a two-RBI double to right-center field for a 3-1 lead in favor of the YellowJackets.
"Our girls fought hard and really showed grit," said LETU head coach
Kate Bell-Keierleber. "We are extremely proud of the fight they had tonight."
The Wildcats (14-8, 12-4 ASC) got back on the scoreboard on a RBI double by Kelsey Kelly that put runners on second and third before a foul out ended the comeback hopes for the home team. Earlier in the game, LC plated the first run of the contest on a pair of hits but stranded the bases loaded.
Williams had a pair of hits for her third multi-hit game to lead a six-hit attack for the YellowJackets. Also for LETU, In the circle, senior
Kayla Cosby allowed just five hits and struck out four in the win to even her record at 6-6 on the season.
Five-different players for Louisiana College had a hit in the loss. Starting pitcher Savannah Settle went 6.1 innings, allowing six hits, three runs and striking out three to fall to 10-4.
The YellowJackets and Wildcats will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Coca-Cola Wildcat Field.
