The YellowJackets closed out their ASC three-game series with No. 1 UT Tyler on Saturday with an afternoon doubleheader. The Patriots swept the series, earning 9-0 and 13-2 wins over LETU. UT Tyler kept the Jacket's bats at bay in both games as they were outhit 3-13 in game two and 3-20 in the series finale.
LeTourneau drops to 3-9 on the season and 1-8 in the American Southwest Conference after finishing out the series with top ranked UT Tyler.
In the first contest, the Jackets struggled at the plate against Patriot's pitcher Whitney Romero, who recorded eight strikeouts. Senior

Ashley Burdine falls to 1-4 on the season after giving up nine runs on 13 hits in her 5.2 inning effort.
In the series finale, LETU was able to bring two runners across the plate in the fifth inning. Freshman
Shelby Barrick kicked off the inning with a single to center field to put her into scoring position. A huge RBI triple by freshman
Julie Cantu brought the two LETU runs across to cut the UT Tyler lead to 8-2. However, the YellowJackets were unable to hold off the Patriot offense as they scored five runs in the sixth inning to end the game, 13-2.
Faith Genoway drops to 1-4 on the season recording two strikeouts. The sophomore transfer gave up 11 runs on 17 hits in her five-inning outing.
The YellowJackets will travel to Richardson, Texas where they will return to action against the UT Dallas Comets. The three-game series will be kicked off on Friday, March 3
rd with the first pitch set for 3 p.m.
