BELTON, Texas - In the first of three matches in a three-day road trip, the LeTourneau University women's tennis team would win five of six singles matches in addition to taking all three doubles matches to beat the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor by a score of 8-1 at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center in Belton, Texas on Friday, March 9th. 
With the win, LETU improves to 3-1 overall this season with all three wins coming against American Southwest Conference competition while the Crusaders drop their season opener to fall to 0-1. 
Doubles action saw both the No. 1 and No. 2 teams for LeTourneau cruise to easy victories to secure a lead going into the singles matches, with 
Maddison Brackenreg and 
Gracie Favela earning an 8-3 win while 
Terin Murray and 
Katy Hall teamed up for an 8-2 win. The YellowJackets would go on to sweep the doubles matches with a win at No. 3 doubles, with 
Mikayla Thomas and 
Lauren Rockwell earning an 8-0 win to put LETU up 3-0.
In singles action, Brackenreg earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory while Murray took a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 2 singles. The only point conceded by the YellowJackets on Friday came at No. 3 singles with Favela falling 6-2, 4-6, 7-10 at No. 3 singles, but saw the No. 4 (Hall), No. 5 (Rockwell), and No. 6 (
Samantha Trevino) singles matches won in convincing fashion. 
Tomorrow's action will get underway at 12 p.m. when LETU takes on Concordia University Texas in Austin.
