Jimmie Henson would play a role in both victories for the LeTourneau University men's tennis team, falling 7-2 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center in Belton, Texas on Friday, March 9th.Â
LETU has now dropped two straight matches to fall to 1-4 overall while the Cru improved to 1-0 overall after earning a victory in their 2018 season opener.Â
The YellowJackets would manage to pick up a victory in only one of the three doubles matches, with Henson and Farris picking up an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles before seeing the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles duos of
Robby Bundy and
Zac Crowley-Kurth as well as
Dale Wallace and
Nash Best drop their matches by scores of 8-3.Â
Things would not fare much better for the YellowJackets in the singles matches, with Farris falling 4-6, 6-3, 1-6 at No. 1 singles while Bundy fell 2-6, 6-2, 4-6 at No. 3 singles. Henson earned his second victory of the day with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles before Crowley-Kurth dropped his match at No. 4 singles 0-6, 0-6.
Collin Patterson saw his only action of the day come at No. 5 singles in an 0-6, 2-6 loss while Best also dropped his singles match 2-6, 0-6.Â
LeTourneau will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they take on Concordia University Texas in Austin beginning at 12 p.m.Â
