LETU Women Drop Home Match To Dallas Baptist 9-0

LONGVIEW, Texas – Playing in their first of three home matches during the month of March, the LeTourneau University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to NCAA Division II Dallas Baptist University at the Davis Tennis Courts in Longview, Texas on Wednesday, March 6th.
 
LETU is now 2-5 overall on the season while the Patriots improved to 8-4 overall.
 
Putting up a strong battle in doubles action, the YellowJackets would be unable to secure a point during the three matches as Katharine Waldthausen and Maddison Brackenreg would fall 8-2 at number one doubles while Gracie Favela and Terin Murray dropped an 8-3 decision at number two doubles. In the number three doubles match, Lauren Rockwell and Mimi Samdi would drop an 8-1 decision which would give DBU a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
 
The top of the LETU lineup would provide more strong battles in singles play with Waldthausen dropping a 6-2, 7-5 decision at number one singles while Brackenreg would fall 6-3, 6-2 at number two singles. The number three singles match would see Favela fall 6-4, 6-0 after a very close opening set while Murray (number four singles) and Rockwell (number five singles) fell by scores of 6-1, 6-0. Samdi would play in the lone other singles match for LeTourneau, dropping a 6-0, 6-0 decision at number six singles.
 
LeTourneau hits the road once again and will next play on Sunday, March 10th at 11:30 a.m. (ET) against the University of Mount Union in the Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The YellowJackets will play three matches in four days as part of the Spring Tennis Fest, which features teams from all over the United States.
