HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The YellowJackets were perfect at the Hilton Head Spring Tennis Fest.
LeTourneau University men's tennis team won for the fourth straight day, this time beating Berry College, 8-1, to complete its Spring Break trip.
Only a loss at No. 1 singles prevented the Jackets (9-3) from a sweep of the Vikings (3-4).
Jimmie Henson and
Christian Farris walked past Rory Glatt and Jordan Crance, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles.
Miles Grubbs and
Julian Lee cruised past Clay Jones and Connor Murphy, 8-1, at No. 2 pairs.
Nathan Schmidt and
Rodrigo Vazquez Chairez beat Ben Knight and Murph Lutian, 8-3, at No. 3.
Moving up in the lineup, Lee overcame Crance, 6-3, 2-6, 10-6, at No. 2 singles. Schmidt beat Frank, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3. Vazquez Chairez rolled over Jones, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 4. Grubbs defeated Murphy, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 5.
Gavin Meyer beat Knight, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6.
It was Meyer's third singles appearance of the season.
LETU improved to 24-12 in pairs play.
