ALPINE, Texas – Reagan Sandford netted both goals in LETU's 2-1 triumph over Sul Ross State at Lobo Field Friday.
Kara Gipson assisted on both tallies, helping the Yellowjackets improve to 3-10-2 this season, including 1-6-1 in the American Southwest Conference. The Lobos remain the only team in the league with ut a win, falling to 1-9-0, 0-8-0.
Sandford and Gipson teamed up for goals in 56 seconds, the first at 25:32 into the opening period, handing LETU a 2-0 lead at the break. This is the eighth multi-goal game of Sandford's career and third this fall. With her team leading ninth goal of the campaign, Sandford moves into third in the league. Gipson matched her career high in assists, marking the fourth time as a Yellowjacket.
Aylin Pereyra trimmed the margin in half when she found the back of the net with a half hour left in regulation.
