Gabriella Sanchez registered the lone goal for the LETU women's soccer team in the season finale at the Joyce Family Athletics Village Saturday.
A week after a 2-1 victory over Sul Ross State in Alpine, Texas, the Yellowjackets suffered a disappointing 5-1 result. They went 3-13-2 overall and 1-8-1 against league foes, the second straight losing season. The Lobos ended with a 2-11-0 mark, going winless in 10 conferences fixture.
Britney Berumen set up Yissel Olivares' first goal of the night, which gave the Lobos the 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute. Oliveras factored in all five goals scored by the Lobos with three assists and two tallies.
Gariella Sanchez notched the equalizer in the 36
th minute with her first tally of the fall. The Lobos answered 21 seconds later when assisted on Aylin Pereya's first of two scores. Olivares notched her first of three helpers on the night.
Nuvia Guillen (39:35), Olivares (50:40) and Pereya (65:35) put the game away with three goals over a 25-minute span.
