Jackets Stopped at Ozarks in Season Finale

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – LeTourneau University women's soccer team dropped the season finale to host Ozarks Thursday afternoon, 1-0, at Clarksville High School.

The game was moved due to water-logged field conditions from recent rain at Ozarks.

Jessica Alvarado scored the game's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 30th minute.

Alvarado's goal came 2:23 after LETU goalkeeper Kiersten Reeser stopped Bella Salazar's shot to keep the game scoreless. Reeser made a save on Bella Mora's shot in the 41st minute. Reeser had seven saves for the third consecutive game. She's had six or more saves in six straight games, and seven times this season.

Brittany Shipp gave the YellowJackets (2-8-2, 1-5-1 American Southwest Conference) a chance to tie the game in the 57th minute, but Ozarks keeper Sydney Frazier made the save. That came 1:38 after Shipp sent a shot that went right. Kara Gipson's shot in the fifth minute went right.

The Eagles (2-4-1, 1-3-1) outshot the Jackets, 14-3, which included an 8-1 advantage on goal.
