LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University women's tennis team lost to Southwestern University, 9-0, Saturday.
Bailey Deatherage and
Summer Apostalo fell to Esther Bowers and Mariana Quetzeri, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles. At the No. 2 position,
Sierra Linssen and
Julia Miller lost to Nina Elez and Emma kesterson, 8-1.
Brandy Weems and
Amber Van Duyn were defeated by Alli Ziehm and Taylor Despriet, 8-0, at the No. 3 slot.
The YellowJackets trailed 3-0 moving into singles play.
At No. 1 singles, Deatherage lost to Nina Mitrofanova, 6-3, 6-0. Linssen fell to Bowers, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 2 position. Apostalo dropper her No. 3 singles match to Kesterson, 6-0, 6-1. At No. 4 singles, Weems lost to Elez, 6-0, 6-0. Miller fell at No. 5 singles to Despriet, 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 6 position, Samdi dropped her match to Quetzeri, 6-0, 6-0.
LeTourneau fell to 4-8 on the season.
The Jackets will travel to Belhaven University Sunday at 1 p.m. for an ASC Matchup.
