LONGVIEW, Texas – Concordia (Texas) capitalized on an effective offensive attack Thursday at the Joyce Family Athletics Complex to claim a 6-1 victory over LeTourneau.
In the American Southwest Conference opener for both sides, the Tornados (2-4-1, 1-0-0 ASC) turned a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 halftime cushion with four goals in less than 19 minutes.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Menard netted her first career goal and put the Yellowjackets (1-5-1, 0-1-0) up just over two minutes into the tilt. She scooped up a loose ball on the left side of the goal and fired a shot from 17-yards out into the lower right corner.
Three and a half minutes later, Kaley Kasper recorded the equalizer in the sixth minute. Emily Mowrer struck in the 10th minute with the game-winner and followed with her second marker in the 19th minute, pushing the advantage to 3-1. Kallie Krenz found the back of the net with 20 minutes left in the first half. Jenna Townsley's marker in the 70th minute completed the scoring and securing the victory for the visitors from Austin.

Yellowjackets' goalkeeper
Kiersten Reeser faced 26 shots, 15 on goal and saved 10, moving her to eighth in school history for career saves with 127.
