IRVING, Texas -- Five LeTourneau men's tennis players recorded a pair of wins as the YellowJackets downed Dallas, 8-1, on Saturday at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving.
LeTourneau (2-0) remained undefeated on the year with the win while Dallas, in its first year of tennis, dropped to 0-2.
The YellowJackets opened the match with a sweep in doubles action.Â
Julian Lee and
Miles Grubbs anchored the top flight with an 8-2 win over Dallas'Â Shu-Lun Chang and John-Paul Collins. At the No. 2 flight,
Andres Urrutia and
Zach Farris downed Thomas O'Donnell and Andrew Le by an 8-3 final, while
John Lewis and
Kenny Munoz earned an 8-0 win over Joey Nelson and Ronan O'Riley at No. 3.
In singles play, Urrutia handled O'Donnell at the No. 2 flight by a 6-0, 6-0 final. Farris, making his spring debut, earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Collins at the No. 3 position. Grubbs notched 6-0, 6-1 win against Le at the No. 4 spot.
The YellowJackets cleaned up the final two flights to conclude the victory. Munoz won in straight sets over Nelson 6-0, 6-0 while Lewis also blanked his opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 win over O'Riley.
