Women's Soccer Stumbles Against Hardin-Simmons

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's soccer stumbled against ASC foe Hardin-Simmons, 8-0, on Thursday evening.

The YellowJackets fall to 1-6-1, while the Cowgirls improve to 6-1-2.

Goalkeeper Kelauna Cruz set a new career high with 14 saves in the match, keeping the Cowgirls attack at bay as best she could. This match was the second time this season Cruz has had 10 plus saves in a match.

In the first half, Hardin-Simmons opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Gabby Aviles scored her third goal of the season. Later in the half, Taylor Koch (27'), Presleigh Thiessen (29'), and Beasley Floyd (41') added to the score to make it 4-0 Cowgirls at the half.

In the 49th minute, Aviles added her second goal of the match to make it 5-0, and later, Lexi Templin (58') and Kirsten Bush (75', 86') concluded the scoring for Hardin-Simmons.

The YellowJackets fired four shots, with one of them from Chanel Kemball-Cook being on goal, but Cowgirls keeper Jenna Russell was able to keep it out of the net.

Camryn Robbins and Clarissa Martinez played all 90 minutes, making multiple plays on the defensive end for LeTourneau.
