WACO, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team got back in the win column with a 6-1 win over Texas Lutheran on Friday in Waco.
The match was a rescheduled contest from Feb. 14 that was rained out after a lengthy delay.
LeTourneau (5-7) started quickly and took the doubles point with wins at the top two flights.
Isa Casso and
Elizabeth Moreau downed Lindsay Beville and Luecero Alvarado 6-3. At the No. 2 flight,
Maddie Nichol and
Emma Boulanger earned a 6-3 win over Kassidee Webb and Mercedes Tirado.
LeTourneau took a pair of default points in singles play, but took three of the four played matches.
Casso earned a three-set win over Beville at the top spot. Casso dropped the first set in a tiebreak but rallied for a 6-7(5), 6-2, 10-3 win. Moreau downed Alvarado by a 7-5, 6-3 final at the No. 2 spot.
Kylie Weeks defeated Tirado at the No. 4 flight by a 6-0, 6-1 final.
Texas Lutheran (0-6) collected its lone point as Webb outlasted Nichol in three sets 1-6, 6-4, 12-10.
