LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau baseball team secured a series win with a 7-1 victory in Saturday's rubber match.
The win moves LeTourneuau to 8-11 on the campaign, while the loss drops Southwestern to 10-13 on the season.
Ryan Brewer put on a pitching clinic, recording seven scoreless innings. Brewer overwhelmed the visiting Pirates lineup, notching six strikeouts, and allowing just three baserunners.
Frank Maestri put together a strong relief appearance as he pitched the final two frames for the YellowJackets. Maestri allowed only a single run and gathered a pair of strikeouts.
Stephen Rutherford was handed the loss on the hill as he would go just four innings and allowed three runs.
As a squad the YellowJackets tallied double-digit knocks with 10 hits on the day.
Jack Kale and
Zach Baker would have extra base hits.
The Pirates were led by Connor Duffey who tallied their only extra base hit.
UP NEXT
The YellowJackets head to Belton to take on open conference play against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday at 6 p.m.
