BELTON, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday morning with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 seed Mary Hardin-Baylor in the semifinals of the ASC Tournament.
LeTourneau ends the year 8-12 overall. Mary Hardin-Baylor (10-8) advances to the ASC championship match.
The match was moved from Thursday evening to Friday morning due to inclement weather in the Belton-area.
LeTourneau was making its second straight appearance in the ASC Tournament semifinals.
Mary Hardin-Baylor took flights No. 2 and No. 3 in doubles to go ahead 1-0 in the match. LeTourneau's top doubles flight in
Isa Casso and
Elizabeth Moreau led UMHB's Bailee Lane and Jolin Ha by a 4-3 score when the doubles point was clinched.
In singles, LeTourneau's
Maddie Nichol fell to Zoe Male by a 6-0, 6-2 final before
Emmy Phillips lost to UMHB's Emily Higgs 6-0, 6-4 as the host Crusaders took a 3-0 match lead. Lori Bryan clinched the match for UMHB with her 6-3, 6-0 win over Moreau at No. 2.
Casso was battling Erin Kittredge at the top flight when play halted, while
Kylie Weeks was in the match against Ha at No. 4.
