Four years as a YellowJacket and Maddie Flanery has her name etched across the program's record book.
In 2026, she earned CSC Academic All-America third team and All-SCAC second team honors. She became the first player in program history to earn Academic All-America, while becoming a three-time all-conference selection.
Flanery batted a career-high .402 with 16 multi-hit games and a .503 on-base percentage, while she added program season records for runs scored with 45 and for walks with 24. She swiped 41 bases on the year to end her career with a program-record 151 steals and also set a program career record with 134 runs scored.
She posted career-highs in nearly every statistical category. Her 51 hits on the year ranks fourth in program history, while her .503 on-base percentage was also fourth-best in a season. Flanery tallied a career-high four triples and hit an inside-the-park home run. She tied a program record with four runs scored in a game. She accomplished all of that while also moving to shortstop after playing the outfield for three years.
“Maddie is incredibly deserving of being named LeTourneau University's Female Athlete of the Year," said head coach Macey Mize. "Throughout the year, she consistently stepped up for our team in every way, leading with unwavering faith, pursuing excellence in everything she did, and fostering unity among her teammates. She competed every day with the goal of becoming the best athlete and person she could be, and her impact on our program extends far beyond the field. I couldn't be more proud of her and all she has accomplished.”
Flanery was the SCAC Elite 19 Award winner in 2026 and was a four-time conference all-academic selection. She graduated in May with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in kinesiology.
She concluded her career on the field in the top-10 in program history in batting average (.337, 10th), hits (139, eighth), runs (132, first), triples (8, tied for first), walks (60, tied for first), on-base percentage (.431, third), and steals (151, first).
