Biography
2014-15 (as a sophomore): The athletic department recipient of the R.G. LeTourneau Legacy Award (read more)...one of five YellowJackets, who received ITA Scholar-Athlete academic honors...team also earned All-Academic Team recognition...named to the ASC Academic Honor Roll for a second-straight year...posted an 8-6 record with all eight wins came at No. 4 singles...won six of his last nine matches on the season...teamed up with Kendall Beggs for a 4-11 mark at No. 1 doubles.
2013-14 (as a sophomore): Named Third Team All-American Southwest Conference at No. 5 singles and Honorable Mention at No. 2 doubles with Sindre Johnsgaard...selected for the ASC Academic Honor Roll...had a 10-8 overall record in singles including eight wins at No. 5 singles...had a key win at No. 5 singles win to helped clinch the win over UT Dallas (Feb. 22)...one of four YellowJackets to record 13 doubles wins...eight of which came at No. 2 doubles and five more at No. 3...won six of his first seven matches in doubles to begin the spring...had a four-match winning streak in dobules (Apr. 1-12)...he and Michael McLaughlin had eight conference doubles wins to lead the YellowJackets.
2012-13 (as a freshman): Won his last four singles matches to close out his first season with a 4-2 mark...went 2-0 against ASC foes including a 1-0 mark at No. 2 singles...had a 5-1 doubles mark with a 4-1 mark at No. 3 doubles...teamed up with Michael McLaughlin to record a 2-1 mark at No. 3 and 1-0 marks at No. 3 with Josh Bailey and John Smith, respectively.
Prior to LeTourneau: Four-year letterwinner at Jacksonville High School...named first team All-District 14-4A selection as a sophomore, junior, and senior...second team all-district as a freshman...the USTA Champion in Boys 18's Singles as a senior...finished as the district runner-up and advanced to regionals in singles as a senior...member of the District 14-4A championship and regional qualifying team as a junior...won the District 14-4A championship in doubles and qualified for regionals as a junior...earned TTCA Academic All-State as a senior..garnered honorable mention honors in the Stephen F. Austin State University Biology I contest as a freshman and in the Stephen F. Austin State University Biology II contest as a sophomore and junior...the JHS Indian Tennis Male Academic Award recipient as a sophomore and junior...salutatorian of his graduating class...a DAP Graduate, a Texas Scholar, and the recipient of the JHS Physics Award as a senior.
