Prior to LeTourneau: A four-year letterwinner at Devine HIgh School...hit .323 as a senior with 21 hits and six runs scored...he posted a 3-4 record in 41.1 innings pitched and 30 strikeouts in nine appearances...as a junior, hit .309 with 25 hits and 13 RBI...posted a 5-3 record with a 2.12 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 11 appearances...as a sophomore, hit .300 with 12 runs scored and 13 RBI...picked up all-district honors on three occasions.
