Bo Martino begins his first season as an assistant baseball coach after spending the last two years with NCAA Division I member, Stephen F. Austin.
Martino served as the volunteer pitching coach for the Lumberjacks, where they pitched 446.1 innings and struck out 306 in 2015. One of his former players, Cameron Gann was selected in the 27th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Before joining the staff at SFA, Martino served on the baseball coaching staff at his alma mater and fellow American Southwest Conference rival, East Texas Baptist as well as in the high school ranks at Marshall High School and Gary High School.
While with the Tigers as a student-athlete, they reached the ASC Tournament during his junior season and was a four-year letterwinner.
Martino is originally from Marshall and earned his bachelor’s degree from ETBU in kinesiology and working on his master’s degree from SFA in human performance.
Martino and his wife, Natalie live in Longview.
