Walt Williams is in his third season as the head men's and women's golf coach at LeTourneau University.

During his time at LETU, Williams has coached the men's golf team to three individual tournament wins and the first men's team ASC Championship in six years while also helping the men set a new team scoring average record of 302. Individually, Mason Terry was the first LeTourneau All-ASC first team selection since 2011 while Seth Walters was named the 2016 ASC Men's Sportsmanship award winner. 

On the women's side, Williams led the YellowJackets to their first team tournament championship in eight years with Alisa Wilson winning the 2017 ASC Women's Sportsmanship award. Between the men and women, LeTourneau has had four Academic All-American Scholars since Williams became head coach. 

In 2015-16, the LETU men's team finished fourth at the American Southwest Conference Championships. It was a three-place improvement from the previous year for the YellowJackets. In addition, junior Daniel Kay and senior Houston Moore finished in the top 20. Junior Seth Walters was recognized as the ASC Men's Golf Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. 

On the women's side, LETU was fifth at the ASC Championships. Plus, the YellowJackets shot a 36-hole total of 674 at the Louisiana College Fall Invite for its 36-hole total in program history. 

He was named the head coach at LeTourneau University in July 2015.

Prior to accepting the position at LeTourneau, Williams served as the Director of Golf for the last two years at NCAA Division I member, University of Louisiana-Monroe. As the men's head coach in 2015, three Warhawks earned all-Sun Belt Conference honors. The men's team finished third at the rigorous Sun Belt Conference Championships in 2015, where a pair of ULM golfers shared fifth-place honors. The men's team had four top-five finishes on the season including a win at the Wallace Jones Invitational in 2014-15. Williams was also involved in the hiring of ULM women's head coach Heather Holte.

Williams came to ULM after two seasons at Western Texas College in his hometown of Snyder, Texas, where he coached the men's and women's programs both to conference and regional championships and to second and third place finishes, respectively in the NJCAA National Championship. He had a total of 15 players earn all-conference honors including eight, who picked up All-American recognition. Before that, he served as the head coach in the PAC-12 at NCAA Division I member, Washington State for 13 years. During that tenure Washington State was represented at the NCAA Regional Tournament 12 times. WSU had 24 all-conference honorees, four All-Americans and numerous team tournament championships. Prior to Washington State, he was the head men's and women's coach at Sam Houston State for six years where he also coached them to a conference championship and made three NCAA Regional appearances.

The Snyder, Texas native played collegiately at ASC member McMurry University for legendary coach Tommy Estes, where they won a pair of Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles.

After his playing days, he entered the coaching ranks after serving as a club professional at several courses in the state. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State and he and his wife Carol are the proud parents of nine children and three grandchildren.
