Keith Bell enters his third season with the YellowJackets after coming from Division II Ouachita Baptist University since 2009.
"We are fortunate to have someone of Keith's caliber join our staff," Kate Bell said. "He will bring valuable leadership experience as well a solid philosophy on the fundamentals of softball."
Bell began coaching for the Forney Youth Softball Association in 1991 and began coaching with the Texas Travelers Girls' Fast pitch Organization in 2002. He coached at the University of Texas at Tyler from 2006 to 2009 where he coached in two ASC Conference Tournaments, two NCAA Regional tournaments and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2009. He was also a member of the 2009 Co-Coaching Staff of the Year in Division III Softball.
In addition to his 15 years of coaching softball, Keith Bell is also the president and CEO of Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc. in Forney and owner of the KB Cattle Company in Wills Point.
Bell was the founder and past president of the Forney Education Leadership Foundation, a member of the Forney Economic Development Corporation, a member of the Mesquite Lions Club, chairman of the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board and the current President of the Forney ISD Board of Trustees.
In the 2010 season, the Tigers finished with a program best 36-24 season while earning a berth to the GSC Conference Tournament and setting single season records in hits, doubles, homeruns, runs scored, and RBI's. In 2011, OBU earned their third consecutive appearance to the GSC Conference Tournament with a third-place finish in the GSC West and a program-record six All GSC Team selections.
