Rayn House begins her second year as an assistant softball coach at LeTourneau University.
In her first season, House along with fellow assistant coach Stan Wells worked with a LETU pitching staff that recorded 14 complete games and struck out 122 batters in 41 games. She has also worked with fellow members of the coaching staff on the implementation of a Mental Toughness Training program for the YellowJackets.
The Paris, Texas native was a standout at Texas State in San Marcos, Texas before joining the staff at LeTourneau. While with the Bobcats, House finished her career eighth in program history with 304 strikeouts and 12 shutouts in 44 appearances.
House was named to the 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second Team All-Central Region. During her senior season, she had 218 strikeouts with a 2.50 ERA and a 22-18 mark. She picked up Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week honors (Feb. 17) and was also named second team all-Sun Belt Conference for her efforts.
As a junior, in 2013, she was named second team all-Western Athletic Conference after making 42 appearances in 167 2/3 innings. House led the team with a 3.09 ERA and 86 strikeouts to go along with three saves.
Prior to Texas State, she was a two-time all-conference honoree at Ouachita Baptist to start her college career. All four years of her college careeer, she earned academic all-conference honors. The North Lamar High School graduate was a four-time academic all-district selection, three-time district and conference MVP. She was also selected as the 2010 Texas 3A State MVP.
At LeTourneau, she is working on her master’s degree in strategic leadership.
