John Antonisse

John Antonisse was hired as women's head soccer coach at LeTourneau University in 2014.

He is the winningest head women’s soccer coach in school history at LeTourneau University. Antonisse has a record of 49-47-11 at LETU and overall record of 264-149-45 at three schools. Antonisse has led LeTourneau to five straight appearances in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament, and has coached five of the seven ASC Tournament teams in school history. 

In 2019, LeTourneau went 9-8-1, 5-4-1 in the ASC. The YellowJackets qualified for the ASC Championship Tournament, falling in the quarterfinals. His team posted six shuouts during the season, including a double-overtime tie at the University of Texas at Dallas. The YellowJackets earned six All-ASC honors. Reagan Sandford was named a Third Team All-West Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches. 

In 2018, the YellowJackets had a record-setting year as LETU qualified for the ASC Tournament as the No. 5 seed and advanced to the semifinals for the first time in school history by advancing on penalty kicks over Sul Ross State. LETU won a program-best 11 games. The season featured a six-match unbeaten streak to start the year, and included a 7-4 mark in conference play and 7-3 overall record at home. The Jackets netted six All-ASC selections and two All-ASC Tournament Team picks. Reagan Sandford was named ASC Offensive Freshman of the Year. Defender Sarah Harder became the first female Google Cloud CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in school history. The team also earned the ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship Award. 

The 2017 campaign saw six athletes named to the All-ASC teams, including second-team selections Riley Scarborough and Kelli Sonnier. After starting the season with a five-game unbeaten mark, LETU finished the year with a 9-7-3 overall record, the most wins in a single-season since the 2006 season. 

Antonisse led the YellowJackets to the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the fourth time in school history in 2016, which marked the second time that LeTourneau made back-to-back tournament appearances (also in 2005 and 2006). Four YellowJacket athletes earned postseason honors, including Stephanie Vana, who was named ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. 

During the 2015 campaign, Antonisse and the YellowJackets advanced to the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the third time in program history. It was the first appearance by LeTourneau since back-to-back appearances in 2005 and in 2006. For their efforts, six players were named All-American Southwest Conference to match the most in program history. Antonisse helped organize an offensive attack that scored 24 goals -- the most by a LETU team since a 27-goal season in 2009. One of the top offensive threats, freshman Keely Hayden became the first player since Erica Sudeck in 2006 with multiple hat tricks in a season. 

In 2014, in his first season, he helped guide LETU to its most wins since 2009. Seven players were named to the ASC All-Academic Team. For the second-straight year, Stephanie Vana was named third team all-region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and first team All-American Southwest Conference. Vana was also a repeat First Team All-ASC honoree en route to being named the LETU Female Athlete of the Year. Freshman Carrye Funk was named the ASC Freshman Defensive Player of the Year and Third Team All-American Southwest Conference. 

In addition to his coaching duties, Antonisse served as the Director of Compliance for three years, where he worked with athletic director, Terri Deike on the implementation and monitoring of the policies of rules and regulations within the American Southwest Conference and NCAA Division III. He attended the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar in Indianapolis in June 2015 and in Dallas in June 2016.

He also works with the FC Dallas East Texas Soccer Club after working previously with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club.

Antonisse came to LeTourneau after spending 17 years as the head coach at fellow American Southwest Conference member University of Texas at Dallas. With a career mark of 209-94-34, he guided the Comets to nine ASC championship games, including titles in 2002 and 2004. In 2002, he led UTD to the NCAA Regional Finals and in 2011, a spot in the NCAA National Tournament. For his efforts, Antonisse earned recognition as ASC Coach of the Year honors on three occasions.
 
In addition, he has had numerous student-athletes receive academic citations on the conference and national level, and his teams posted on multiple occasions the highest GPA within the university at UTD.
 
Antonisse has also shared his soccer knowledge in the community, earning the UTD Outstanding Service Award in 2003 and the Dallas Texans Youth soccer team. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree from Amberton University. In addition, he holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” coaching license and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier coaching diploma.
