LeTourneau University Athletics

Tanya Zickefoose

Originally from Edmonds, Washington, Tanya joins her former coaches from NNU as the graduate assistant at LeTourneau University for the 2013 season.

She is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University, earning a degree in Recreation and Sports Management and graduating Magna cum Laude in May of 2013.  Having spent 4 years as an NCAA Division II goalkeeper, Tanya holds the distinction of having started all 68 games of her career in goal for NNU.  She was named an All Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) selection following her freshman, junior, and senior seasons.  Tanya tallied one assist and 359 saves in her career as a goalkeeper.  Along with her athletic pursuits, Tanya was named to the GNAC Women’s Soccer All Academic Team in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

To cap off her success both academically and athletically throughout her career, she was named to the NSCAA 2012 Women’s College Division Scholar All-West Region team in 2012.  This honor is significant in that she was one of 26 athletes to be named to the team, which is made of collegiate women’s soccer players from NCAA Division I, II and III and the NAIA, from a region that stretches from Colorado to Hawaii.  She was the only goalkeeper among these 26 athletes.

“It has been a privilege for me and Rachel to coach Tanya over the past 4 years,” commented LETU Women’s Soccer Coach Jamie Lindvall.  “We’re excited that God has brought her to LeTourneau and are looking forward to seeing her put all of her experience to use in a new environment and in a different leadership capacity as a coach.”
