Brendan Provan was named the full-time assistant coach for the LeTourneau men's and women's track and field programs in August 2024. The 2024-25 season was his first with the programs.

Provan came to LeTourneau after a decorated track career at Messiah University.

"I am very excited to be joining the LeTourneau athletics team," said Provan. "I'm grateful to Dr. Tim Sceggel in providing me with this opportunity. I was drawn to the department as a whole for its leadership, strong commitment to its mission, and culture. Discipleship, in particular, is something that I am passionate about. I am also honored to be joining a staff with two phenomenal coaches in Dillon May and Kevin Gideon."

"I am beyond excited to add Brendan to our coaching staff here at LeTourneau," added Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Dillon May. "He brings a special combination to our team: a wealth of track and field knowledge, championship experience as a student-athlete, and a passion for discipleship in the realm of athletics. I've had the pleasure of knowing Brendan for a few years now, and his heart for ministry was clear from the moment I met him. He's going to be an incredible coach and he's going to do a lot for our program."

Provan competed in sprints and jumps for seven seasons at Messiah, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees. He qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in the triple jump and earned USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region honors in the triple jump in 2021.

Provan finished his Messiah career ranked in the Falcons' top-10 in triple jump, 100-meter, 200-meter, and long jump. He was the 2022 champion in the triple jump at the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

In addition to his exploits on the track, Provan served as an intern for the Messiah program and was a strength and conditioning coach for the Messiah department for two years. He also taught as an adjunct instructor at Messiah.

"My goal as a coach is to help athletes maximize their potential in a holistic manner so that their relationship with Jesus, athletic performance, interactions with others, and character are better and better each day. I love track and field and am excited to take part in a great program in a new place," added Provan.

Provan earned his bachelor's degree in applied health sciences from Messiah in 2021 and his master's in intercollegiate athletic leadership in 2023.
