Andrew Mindeman was named the Associate Director of Athletics for Communications in August 2022. The 2026-27 academic year will be his fifth at LeTourneau.
He is the longest tenured communications director (SID) at LeTourneau since the early 2000s.
Mindeman came to LeTourneau after spending 10 years as the director of athletic communications at Covenant College.
At LeTourneau, Mindeman oversees all communications aspects of the department, including digital and social media, along with all press box/scorers' table operations for YellowJacket home events. He often lends his voice as public address announcer or play-by-play talent.
In addition to his communications role, Mindeman is an adjunct professor in the Kinesiology department and serves on multiple campus committees.
Mindeman led his staff of two graduate assistants, along with a host of student assistants, in 2023-24 and was named the ASC Sports Information Staff of the Year. During the year, his team led the ASC in engagement rate on Instagram and made improvements to the LETU Sports Network broadcasts.
In 2025-26, Mindeman helped usher in a new era of LeTourneau athletics as members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. He and his staff began a partnership with FloSports that enhanced live coverage of LeTourneau home games. Mindeman was selected as a finalist for the inaugural FloSports CSC Spotlight Award for his work.

During his time at LeTourneau, Mindeman has aided in the nomination and promotion of two College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans along with Academic All-District selections.Â
While at Covenant, Mindeman grew the Scots' social media presence with the addition of Instagram in the summer of 2014. Since the inception of Instagram, Covenant gained over 1,400 followers in just three years and had over 3,400 at the end of the spring 2022 semester. Under his guidance, Covenant's Instagram routinely ranked as the most interacted account among USA South institutions.Â
Live video broadcasts of Covenant athletic events were enhanced during Mindeman's time at Covenant. He was the driving force behind getting the video stream into HD and viewable on every device. He created all on-screen graphics on the broadcasts and also served as the play-by-play voice of soccer, baseball and softball contests.
While recording and promoting current events within Covenant athletics, Mindeman worked hard to preserve the past. Record book and archive pages on the website have been put together for all current athletic programs. Mindeman researched and verified significant, or complete, records for all 14 athletic programs.
In 2015, Mindeman served as the head SID for the USA South Volleyball Tournament, which Covenant hosted. He also served as the lead SID for the USA South Baseball Tournament in 2016, 2017 and 2019, and the USA South Softball Tournament in 2018. Mindeman also held the lead SID role for the 2019 and 2022 USA South Men's Basketball Tournaments, both hosted by Covenant. Additionally, he was selected as the chairperson for the USA South Sports Information Directors and held the position from 2016-18.
Mindeman has been an active member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA) since 2012. Active in the membership, Mindeman has served on two committees (CoSIDA U, Fred Stabley Writing Contest) and has been part of the membership's mentorship program.
Among his many duties, Mindeman also oversaw the administration of all home athletic events at Covenant and served as an adjunct professor in Covenant's sport management program.
An alumnus of Covenant, Mindeman was brought on as Sports Information Coordinator in August of 2012. He graduated from Covenant in May of 2012 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies composed of business, psychology, and sociology.
Beyond Covenant, Mindeman worked as an official scorer for the Chattanooga Lookouts and a game scorer for Baseball Info Solutions. He was an official statistician at the 2010 NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship and served in the same capacity for two NCCAA Mid-East Regional tournaments in softball and men's basketball.
In 2018, Mindeman completed his master's degree in sports administration from Belhaven University.
He and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 13 years and have two children, Joel and Abigail.
