Courtney Wallace was named the Head Athletic Trainer at LeTourneau University in May 2024. The 2025-26 year will be her second in the role.

“In our search, Courtney was the clear favorite for this role. Her elite knowledge of modern athletic training practices and passion for Christ make her an ideal fit," LeTourneau vice president for athletics Dr. Tim Sceggel said at the time of her hiring. "Consequently, we continued to be thrilled by the personnel that God provides for us in the athletic department."

"I am really honored to be welcomed back to the LeTourneau staff. I loved my time as a graduate assistant and I have loved getting to continue to be a part of the YellowJacket family as a coach's wife," Wallace said. "Raising our kids in the community at LeTourneau is really special, something we do not take for granted."

Indeed, Wallace is a familiar face for LeTourneau athletics. She spent three years as an assistant athletic trainer from 2017-2020. Wallace had a hand in all operations of the department with sport coverage, administrative work, and organization.

She and her husband, LeTourneau head men's basketball coach James Wallace, have two daughters (Maggie and Hollyn).

After her initial stint with LeTourneau, Wallace spent three years with Christus Orthopedic and Sports Medicine working to provide outreach services in the Longview area.

"The athletic training room is my mission field. It is really special to me to get to show the love and grace of Jesus through caring for athletes," added Wallace. "It's a unique opportunity to get to meet them in the moments of their highest highs on the field and their lowest lows when they encounter injuries."

Wallace graduated with a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Anderson (Ind.) University in 2016 and earned her master's in health care administration from LeTourneau in 2019.

Wallace continued, "As my husband and I were praying through this opportunity, I looked at him at one point and told him this is my dream job. Doing the work I'm passionate about with college athletes, at a university that embraces faith and family, it doesn't get much better."

Wallace is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer, and is a licensed athletic trainer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
