LONGVIEW, Texas – LeTourneau volleyball bounced back from a loss earlier in the afternoon to pick up a victory in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21), over Jarvis Christian College Saturday afternoon at Solheim Arena.

"It was a good day," LeTourneau volleyball head coach Scott Peluso said. "We came out a little bit flat in the first match, and after the tough battle last night I think it's understandable. But I think we learned a lot about ourselves in that match because we know we have to come out firing from the very beginning. I think we learned a lot about ourselves over the weekend as a team, so it was very encouraging."

LeTourneau (4-8) held the advantage over Jarvis Christian in kills (33-24), assists (27-23), service aces (6-3), and digs (25-21).

Carissa Moore had seven kills and four block assists to lead LeTourneau on the afternoon. Kayla Ronda had seven kills, two assists and four digs for LETU, while Haley Holthouser had three kills, a match-high three service aces, and three block assists. Kelsie Doran led the YellowJackets in assists with 11, while Sarah Krippner recorded a match-high eight digs to go along with nine assists.

LeTourneau will now hit the road for the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge I in Alpine, Texas, hosted by Sul Ross State. There, the YellowJackets will face conference foes Sul Ross State, Texas Lutheran, and Howard Payne. The next home match for LETU will be Oct. 9 against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
