Stephanie Vana scored on a rebound on a
Raylene Gould free kick in the 57
th minute to lead LeTourneau to a 1-0 road win over University of the Ozarks on Saturday.
The YellowJackets (4-5-1, 1-2 ASC) capitalized when a yellow card was issued to the host Eagles. Vana scored off the rebound for the game-winning goal and her team leading sixth goal of the season. Junior goalkeeper
Jamie Aguillen had four saves between the posts for the shutout. She was challenged in the closing minutes of the contest with three shots in the final six minutes. Two of which went wide and another was blocked.
The Eagles (2-10-1, 0-3 ASC) got five saves from Mary Eoff and registered 11 shots in the defeat.
"We played a very tough team today and stepped up to the challenge in the right way," said LeTourneau head coach
John Antonisse. "Our team was totally committed to the principles we believe that will take us further each day. It was a job well done."
In the win, LETU out shot Ozarks, 13-11 and Vana accounted for four of the shots in the win.
The next match for LeTourneau is a home contest on Friday, October 10 at 4 p.m. against Louisiana College.
