The LeTourneau University women's basketball team dropped a 78-35 decision to Division I, Northwestern State on Friday night at Prather Coliseum in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

The contest is an exhibition game for LETU; whereas, it serves as the season opener for the Demons. Northwestern State had four players in double figures including Presley Owens, who had a game-high 14 points. She was joined in double digits by Amy Stahl and TaSheena Moore, who each added 13 and Keisha Lee scored 12 in the win.

The YellowJackets spread its scoring among eight players in the contest. Sophomore
Bria Goodman and junior
Ashley Stephens each scored eight to lead LETU. In her debut, junior
Te'Andra Richardson had five points and six rebounds in 21 minutes of action.

LeTourneau held an early 5-3 lead when sophomore
Ashley Reed hit a 3 pointer; then, the Demons scored 15 of the next 17 points to build a lead that they would not relinquish. Northwestern State kept the lead at double digits for the last 28 minutes of the game.

Next, the YellowJackets will turn their attention and preparations to the season opener on Friday, Nov. 21 against Hendrix College at 5:30 p.m. in Conway, Arkansas.
