The LeTourneau University women's soccer had three first-time goal scorers and sophomore
Stephanie Vana scored her fifth goal of the season to lead the YellowJackets to a 4-3 win in double overtime over Central Baptist College on Friday afternoon.
The YellowJackets (2-3) outshot the visitors, 22-14 in the win as freshman
JoLynn O'Kelley led the attack with seven shots. A shot from 30 yards out in the second overtime period by Vana proved to be the difference for LeTourneau, who was playing in its second overtime match of the season.
"First, thanks to the Lord for equipping us and providing the opportunity to serve Him through soccer. The team played a great game against a very good opponent, tonight," said head coach
John Antonisse. "Each player on the roster gave their best effort and helped us earn the victory."

The Mustangs (2-3) relied on strong passing through the contest and timely goals throughout the contest.
LeTourneau got on the board in the seventh minute when O'Kelley scored her first collegiate goal when she beat the CBC goalkeeper to the lower left of the goal. The Mustangs came back to tie it in the 23
rd minute on a header by Tarra Hendricks.
With the match tied at 1, LETU regained the lead on the first career goals by freshman
Kennedy Keer and
Carrye Funk in the 57
th and 66
th minute, respectively. Keer scored on a breakaway from the top of the box and Funk converted on a penalty kick attempt.
CBC rallied late in the contest when Allyson Lamb scored in the 70
th and 75
th minute to tie the contest. The YellowJackets had a breakway at the end of regulation that sailed high to send the match into overtime.
Playing in their second overtime match of the season, O'Kelley had a shot blocked in the 93
rd minute and a header by
Riley Scarborough it the cross bar in the 94
th minute. With neither team scoring, the two teams went into a second overtime. Nearly five minutes into the period, Vana fired the game-winning goal.

The YellowJackets will next face Ozarks in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. at the LETU Soccer Complex.
