The LeTourneau University women's soccer team recorded its third-straight shutout with a 2-0 win over Belhaven University on Saturday afternoon in Longview. It is the first time in program history that LETU has recorded three-consecutive shutouts.
Â
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, LETU junior
Stephanie Vana (pictured) stole a Belhaven pass and went 1 on 1 for a shot past the Blazers' goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead. It was the fourth goal of the season for the La Verne, California native. LETU is 3-0 when Vana scores a goal in 2015.
Later, in the half, the YellowJackets offense for the second time in the game capitalized when they stole a pass from the Belhaven defense. This time, it was freshman
Keely Hayden, who stole the pass and dribbled and went to the lower right side of the box for the goal. For Hayden, it was her eighth goal of the season. LETU freshman
Bridey Davis had three saves for the YellowJackets, who recorded their fifth shutout of the season.
Â
With the win, LeTourneau improves to 7-4 on the season. The last time that LETU reached the seven-win mark was 2009. Belhaven falls to 3-7-1 in the loss.

LETU will next travel to Howard Payne University on Thursday, Oct. 15 in Brownwood at 1 p.m.
