The LeTourneau University volleyball team picked up a pair of conference wins over Sul Ross State and Howard Payne at the ASC Crossover on Friday in Tyler.
LETU (8-15, 2-6 ASC) started the day with a 29-27, 22-25, 21-25, 28-26, 19-17 win over Sul Ross State; then, they followed that up with a 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 25-23 win over Howard Payne.
"I am proud of the fight we showed today," said an excited LETU head coach
Scott Peluso. "We found a way to grind out two wins despite some adversity with injuries and illness. Even when we were down there was never any panic. They just focused on the next play. We got kills when we needed them, played some great defense and had some nice blocks at critical times in sets. We had moments when we lost focus but those were short lived and we got right back into our style of volleyball."
