LeTourneau University sophomore Kennedy Keer headed in a corner kick in the 13^th minute to propel the visiting YellowJackets to a 1-0 win over Schreiner on Friday afternoon in Kerrville.

LeTourneau (1-1) converted its fifth corner kick when junior Ashley Gleghorn sent a kick to the high-flying Keer, who beat the Mountaineers' keeper for the goal. LETU freshman goalkeeper Bridey Davis registered her first shutout with six saves for the YellowJackets.

"I think we did a lot of great things but it was also a great learning experience," said LETU sophomore Stephanie Vana. "It was good to come away with a win against a good team and it will give us momentum in our upcoming games." Vana and freshman Keely Hayden each had three shots in the win for LeTourneau.
 
Schreiner (0-1-1) outshot the YellowJackets, 17-8 in the loss. Kyli Harvey and Laura Atenzi each had three shots in the defeat for the Mountaineers. Davis kept Schreiner off the scoreboard with three saves in each half.

The YellowJackets will wrap up the weekend with a 2 p.m. tilt against Texas Lutheran on Saturday in Seguin.
