The YellowJackets would strike first in Friday's ASC matchup with UT Dallas as senior
Stephanie Vana scored her second goal of the season.
Vana got an assist from freshman
Kelli Sonnier and the La Verne, California native was able to take a touch wide and rip a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net. This was the 21st career goal for Stephanie who is back in action after an injury sidelined her for seven games.
The LETU goal in the 14
th minute would give the YellowJackets the lead that would last through the end of the half as they went into the locker room up 1-0. Junior
Carrye Funk made her first start in goal for LeTourneau and made five saves in her 78 minutes between the posts.
The Comets would score in the 70
th minute to tie the game and they would come back again in the 80
th minute to take the lead 2-1 over the YellowJackets.
Stephanie Vana put a shot off the crossbar in the final minutes but despite the furious rally the YellowJackets couldn't find the back of the net and fell 2-1 to UT Dallas.
LeTourneau will be back on the field Saturday night for a home matchup with Howard Payne at 5 PM.
