LeTourneau University women's soccer defeated Howard Payne 2-0, with two goals from
Stephanie Vana in a home ASC matchup on Saturday night.

The YellowJackets were unable to convert on opportunities in the first half of a physical matchup that would go to the break tied nil-nil.

But, in the second half LeTourneau was able to put together strong attacks as they outshot Howard Payne 12-3 in the half and earned two crucial penalty shots.

The game winning goal came in the 50
th minute off of a penalty kick from
Stephanie Vana. In the 87
th minute, the senior from La Verne, California, would step to the penalty spot again and calmly put it in the back in the net. Vana has now netted four goals on the season.

With the win tonight, the YellowJackets move to 6-6-1 for the year and 2-4-1 in conference play. Senior
Brittany Hollis recorded five saves on the way to her fourth shutout of the year.

st and Concordia in Austin, TX on October 22
