LeTourneau men's basketball couldn't find the shooting touch as they fell 67-76 to Texas College on Saturday afternoon in Tyler.
Â
The YellowJackets (1-1) were just 29 percent from the floor on 20-67 shooting as Texas College took an early lead and never trailed in the game.
Â
"We need to learn from this game today and regroup. We came out flat with our ball movement and defensive intensity," said head coach
Dan Miller. "We battled back in the second half to tie it but then didn't sustain the focus needed to get over the top to win the game. When you shoot 29 percent and have 15 turnovers it's hard to win college basketball games. We will refocus and need to learn from this to be ready next time out."

Junior
Alec Colhoff poured in 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead LETU in both categories. The Katy, Texas native attacked the rim and put pressure on the TXC defense as he got to the free throw line 12 times making 11.
Â
The Steers started the game with six unanswered points before junior
Caylab Herrera put the YellowJackets on the board with a jump hook in the paint.
Â
Texas College would lead by as many as 16 in the first half but a late run by LeTourneau would cut the lead to 11 at the break (37-26).
Â
The YellowJackets would battle back in the second half as they tied the game at the 6:56 mark at 55 as freshman
Nate West hit back to back 3-point field goals. West finished with 12 points on 3 of 7 shooting from behind the arc. Junior
Sam Talbert scored all 10 of his points in the second half.
Â
The LeTourneau men will have a week of practice before their Solheim Arena-opener against Centenary College (Louisiana) on November 26
th at 3 p.m.
