A two-RBI single by senior
Sean Sellers in the second and a pair of bases loaded walks in the third propelled the LeTourneau University baseball team to a 4-2 win over Texas College on Tuesday night.
The YellowJackets (12-16), who extend their winning streak to a season-high four games, were led by senior
Brandon Applewhite, who had two of the five hits.
Â
LeTourneau utilized five-different pitchers in the mid-week contest including freshman starter
Alec Ovalle. The newcomer from Devine held the Steers to two hits and struck out five in his first start in six appearances.
Â
The Steers (3-22) ended the shutout bid with a pair of runs in the eighth inning to spoil the shutout bid.
Â
Next, LeTourneau will travel to Austin to face Concordia in a three-game series. The action will get underway on Friday night at 7 p.m. from Tornado Field.
