LeTourneau University volleyball dropped the home opener in five sets against Jarvis Christian College on Wednesday night.

The YellowJackets (4-7, 0-0 ASC) started the match with two dominate first sets winning 25-16 and 25-11. Jarvis was able to take a close third set (24-26) which seemed to turn the momentum as the teams switched ends to start the fourth set.

The fourth set saw the Bulldogs jump out to an early 4-1 lead but LeTourneau recovered and the set went back and forth. After a timeout tied at 23, Jarvis scored the next two points to take the match into a fifth set.

Jarvis Christian got off to another early lead in the fifth set but two kills from
Morgan Weaver helped close the gap for the YellowJackets. In the end the Bulldogs were able to win the match with a final set score of 15-12.

The YellowJackets attack was led by
Dolores Henson with 14 kills and junior
Savanna Stutts was able to put home 12 of her own. Junior
Nicole Mosley set up her hitters with 26 assists and senior
Korissa White had 19 assists on the night.

Kelsie Jeffries recorded 15 digs and
Dolores Henson and sophomore
Liz Williams picked up 14 each to lead the defense. The YellowJackets out blocked Jarvis 10-6 with
Dolores Henson racking up five blocks and senior
Skylar Horan and sophomore
Morgan Weaver each recording four.

The YellowJackets will face their first ASC opponent of the season as they head to UT Dallas on Friday to take on the Comets at 7 PM.
