LETU Women’s Soccer Drops ASC Opener to Sul Ross State

LeTourneau University women's soccer lost 4-1 in the first conference matchup of the season against Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas on Thursday.
 
The YellowJackets (3-3, 0-1 ASC) started out quick with a goal just two minutes into the game by freshman Kelli Sonnier off an assist from sophomore Kristen Wunder. The goal was the second of the season for Sonnier, the Barbe High School product.
 
Sul Ross answered in 15th minute with a goal of their own and the two teams went into the half tied at one goal apiece.
 
A penalty kick was awarded to the Lobos in the early minutes of the second half that gave SRSU the lead. Sul Ross forward Lauren Ebbs put up two more goals on the way to a 4-1 victory.
 
The YellowJackets will be back in action at home next weekend for an ASC matchup against ETBU on Saturday, September 24th.
