LeTourneau University women's soccer dropped a heartbreaking overtime loss 2-1 after leading most of the game in a home ASC matchup against ETBU.
The YellowJackets (3-4, 0-2 ASC) put five shots on goal in the game with freshman
Rebekah Stevenson finding the back of the net for the first time in her LETU career in the 30
th minute.
Stevenson cut off a clearing ball from an ETBU defender and took a shot from deep to put LeTourneau in the lead.
The YellowJacket women held the Tigers scoreless for 80 minutes with senior goalkeeper
Brittany Hollis making three saves in the match. LETU couldn't keep ETBU out of the net in the 81
st minute when a free kick was sent into the box and a deflection found Amber Campbell who was able to put it home.
The two teams went the final nine minutes without a goal and the match went into overtime.
Just two minutes into the overtime period ETBU's Erin Miler intercepted a YellowJacket pass and was able to score the go ahead goal.
LeTourneau will return to the home pitch on Friday, September 30
th for an ASC East matchup with Ozarks at 5:00 PM.
